2. Discuss your feelings about starting your first practicum rotation (good or bad) and identify at least 3 possible factors which might be barriers to your success in completion of the clinical requirements.

SOLUTION 

For my practicum, I will be attending Poland Medical Center in Poland, Ohio for my rotation with this class. The internal medicine office sees patients of all ages from infants to seniors. I will be attending clinical two to three days a week, depending on the physician’s availability. There are options to work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 0700 to 1700. Wednesdays the physician I am with works a half day from 0700 to 1100 an Fridays from 0700 to 1500. My schedule will fluctuate from week to week, to coordinate with my current work schedule. For my first week, I will be attending my first practicum day on Wednesday from 0700-1100 to discuss further schedule details. My preceptor currently does not have any other students in the office; however, one just completed her practicum at this location.

My feelings about beginning practicum location is very mixed. I have feelings of excitement to gain experience in the clinical setting and knowledge of a possible career setting.
