Person-centered care is defined as delivery of care to patients keeping in mind individual beliefs and values, compassion, advocacy in decision-making, and holistic care (McCormack et al., 2017). I interpret this to mean that rather than focusing solely on a patient’s physiological ailments, it is important for the health care team to be concerned with the individual as a whole with unique perspectives, experiences, and values. By doing this, patient care will be enhanced. In my nursing practice, I will implement holistic nursing by viewing the patient as complex individual rather than simply a list of tasks to complete. I will take into account their history, their concerns, and their desires while giving them autonomy in their care plans. I will implement cultural humility by being aware of other cultures and potential restrictions that could affect patient care. For example, if a patient has a food restriction due to their religion, I would provide examples of substitutes that would still satisfy the nutritional intake requirements. …please click the purchase button below to access the entire solution at $5
