For this assignment, discuss the prevailing trends in the United States as they relate to different learner attributes. Students come to the education environment from various backgrounds and perspectives. Their learning approaches, needs, goals, abilities, age, gender, motivation levels, culture, work experiences, overall health, and many other factors influence the learning environment. Examine how as an educator you would address and lead initiatives to support varied learner attributes.
In order to create flexible learning opportunities, with this assignment you are provided an option on your Week 3 The Nurse Educator Leading Change to Support Diverse Learners Assignment. Flexible options allow the learner to direct the learning process. So, for this assignment, each of the following sections can be presented either as an APA narrative paper or PowerPoint with supporting content in speaker notes at the bottom of all slides except the reference slide.
Please note you are not required to make a PowerPoint, rather it is a learning approach option. If you chose to make a PowerPoint, it must meet all the requirements of the assignment rubric including PowerPoint content on each slide. The reference slide should be in APA format except the hanging indent is not required with the PowerPoint format.
PowerPoints should be easy to read, legible, and use bullet points instead of paragraphs. Examine Bloom’s Taxonomy for action verbs to begin the bullet points.
Page length requirement is not applicable for PowerPoint option. For the PowerPoint option, the maximum number of slides is 12.
Include the following in your paper:

- Provide the reader with a brief and defining statement of what will be discussed in the paper.

- Identify and explain an educational theory to assist in framing policies (cited).
- Explain how to create a safe-learning space.
- Nurse Educator as Change Agent (APA narrative or 1-3 PowerPoint slides)
- Examine the issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion for the learner (cited).
- Reflect on an ethical position as a nurse educator (cited).
- Identify action steps to take to conduct a policy change.
- Conclusion (APA narrative or 1-2 PowerPoint slides)
- Create a brief summary for content presented in the paper.
- Draw a conclusion from your change efforts and action plan.
- Summarize the nurse educator’s role in leading change to support the learner.
- References (minimum of 3 scholarly, peer-reviewed sources) (APA narrative or PowerPoint slide)
- Create the reference page.
- Ensure each reference has a matching citation.
- Support your position and the impact of healthcare equality and social change by using evidence from at least three (3) scholarly, peer-reviewed journal sources (preferably research or systematic reviews) that are level I, II, or III and high quality. Do not use textbooks, government sources, or organizational websites for the three sources in this assignment.
