ANSWER

Culture and care theories play vital roles in patient care and health care. Understanding people’s cultures is crucial because everyone has different cultures, religions, and beliefs. I grew up in India, came here almost two years ago, and saw a different culture. However, I had the destiny to adequately appraise the concept of cultural differences, not only with my patients but also in my nursing practice. The Purnell theory and model for cultural competence is with me in my future practice as a family nurse practitioner.
