NR-500-NP: Foundational Concepts and Advanced Practice Roles

Introduction

This discussion will explore the value of a master’s education in nursing. Please provide an initial response to the discussion question by Wednesday at 11:59pm MT and two interactive dialogue responses no later than Sunday 11:59 PM MT at the end of WEEK 5. The discussion is worth 75 points. Discussion Question:

Many of you have experience in complex adaptive systems whether you realize it or not. Thinking about your current or future practice area, identify an issue or concern. In your initial response, please describe the concern. Does the concern primarily occur at the micro, meso, or macro level? How would you address this issue? What impact might your solution have on the other levels of the system? In what ways could interprofessional collaboration be used to resolve the issue?

ANSWER 

Nursing is a complicated field to work in and many concerns and issues are present. Staff shortage is a major concern not only in my experience but at all areas of practice. Staff shortage occurs when not only there is a shortage of nurses to care for the patients but also a shortage in support staff. I currently work in the acute care setting in the hospital and staff shortage is an ongoing concern. Sometimes, the staff shortage is when not enough nurses are present to care for the patients and that is a major concern because a unit cannot operate with less nurses due to strict California laws of patient to nurse ratio…..please click the icon below to purchase the answer at $5
